Taylor “Tay” Whitney Darveau, 15, Bucksport, Me died unexpectedly Thursday, October 3, in a car accident In Bucksport. Taylor was born in Bangor, Me on May 26, 1998 to Corey J and Christina M Darveau. She attended Bucksport High School as a member of the class of 2017 where she had many friends and was involved in many activities including soccer, horseback riding, wrestling, cheerleading, gymnastics and had a special love for softball. Taylor was just starting her career as a commercial model.
Taylor had a special ability to accept everyone as they were. She was a tall girl with a huge heart. She had the ability to take one look at someone and know when they needed one of her hugs and some of her time. She was an outdoors girl that enjoyed camping, boating, tubing and water-skiing with the family and would often invite her many friends to join us. Taylor valued her time with her friends, parents, siblings and extended family and was often known as the jokester in the room. She had a very close bond with her brother, Devin, as they even shared the same circle of friends. She enjoyed alone time with her mother shopping and they even had a secret “hot tub” time. She was the center of her Daddy’s universe.
She is survived by her parents Corey and Christina Darveau, of Bucksport; three brothers Devin Darveau, KP Hilaire of Bucksport and Jordan Fogg of Orono; one sister Chelsea Fogg of Saco. Maternal grandparents; Patricia Umphrey of Washburn, Donald Garvin and Kathy Garvin or Surfside Beach, SC. Paternal Grandparents Kenneth and Gail Darveau of Bucksport, paternal Great-Grandmother Marilyn Russell. Aunts and Uncles: Mary and Richard Wardwell, Michael and Jessica Umphrey, Marc Umphrey, Shelly and Greg Solomon. Nine cousins. Special lifetime friends Emma Bennett, Emily Hunt, China Stewart, Hailey Betts, Brody Boynton and Brandon Findlay. Taylor was pre-deceased by her maternal grandfather Paul Umphrey.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday October 8th from 5-7pm at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home 28 Elm St Bucksport. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 9th at 5pm at the Franklin Street United Methodist Church, Bucksport. Celebration of life dinner will follow after the service at the Bucksport High School.
