Failed to connect to MySQL: Too many connections
William A. Spielman age 79 of Gayridge Road died peacefully in his sleep on August 11, 2013. He was the husband of Marguerite J. (O’Brien) Spielman.
Bill was born August 28, 1933 in LosAngeles, CA a son of the late William and Mae (Corcoran) Spielman and lived in Waterbury since 1973. He grew up in Long Beach, CA and was a graduate of St. Anthony’s High School in Long Beach. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Immaculate Heart College in L.A., and his Masters Degree in Education from the University of Hartford. Bill taught Latin and Spanish at Cornelia Connelly High School in Anaheim for many years. After moving to Waterbury in 1973, Bill was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections as an educator where he worked for over 15 years. He was a friend of Bills for many years and was a sponsor to many over the years as well. He was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Church.
Besides his wife of 49 years of Waterbury, he leaves two sons Gregory J. Spielman and his wife Connie of Shaker Heights, Ohio, John M. Spielman of Shelton and his former wife Suzanne of Trumbull, a daughter Joanne Lantz and her husband Mike of Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, eleven grandchildren Jimmy, Katie, Robby, Zak, Maggie, Luke, Jack, Jake, Julianna, Matthew, Caitlin, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Adele Wilson and Angie Hicks.
Funeral Services for Mr. Spielman will be held on Wednesday August 14, 2013 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury at 10:00 am. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Rites of committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family may visit with Bill’s family on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eastside Memorial, “A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & TRIBUTE CENTER” 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury.
