Elwood F. King, Jr., 90, of Ocean Gate died on July 26, 2013. Born in Edison, he lived in Roselle Park many years before moving to Ocean Gate in 1989.
Mr. King was employed as a Rigger/Welder for Acme Rigging Company in Linden for many years before retiring. He was honored to serve for over 25 years with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He also served on the Ocean Gate Planning Board and was member of the Ocean Gate Democratic Club. Elwood was an avid fisherman, loved NASCAR Racing and was a devoted Giant Fan.
He is predeceased by his son Elwood, III and by his step-son Stephen Smith. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; his daughter Laura Blair; his step-children, Carolyn Smith-Silver, Patricia Rechel, Thomas Smith and James Smith. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Friday, Aug. 2nd, from 6-9pm, with a Prayer Service at 8pm, in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., in Bayville.
