Obituary:

Marian B. Shick, age 90, of, Erie, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Twinbrook Medical Center.

She was born in Cleveland on November 12, 1921, the daughter of the late Francis (Frank) and Mabel Luxford Bon.

She was a graduate of Millcreek High School, class of 1939.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Erie Insurance group for 30 years as a typist and quality control clerk.

She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church where she was also in the Bible Class, choir and the missionary care group.

She volunteered at the City Mission and AARP for flu shot registrations. She belonged to the Young at Heart group at St. John's Lutheran Church and the XYZ Senior Citizens at Immanuel Baptist.

She received an honorable mention for her poetry writing in an international contest.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer Jones and her second husband, Darl E. Shick;, a son, Robert Jones, four brothers, Nelson, Harold, Frank and Albert Bon; a sister, May Watts and foster parents, George and Glendeen Powell.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Louise Shaffner of Smethport, PA; three sons, Paul L. Jones, of Erie, Bruce P. Jones and his wife Mary Jo of St. Clair, MI; and Harold A. Jones of Ft. Pierce, FL; two granddaughters, Brittany Bragg and Vickie Bowman of St. Clair, MI; a sister, Eileen Garland of Florida, and a sister-in-law, Meg Bon of Lodi, OH. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West 10th Street, Erie, Pa. 16502 on Wednesday, from 2:00 till 5:00 pm and 7:00 till 9:00 pm and are invited to a service at Immanuel Baptist Church, 901 West 28th Street, Erie, Pa., 16508 on Thursday at 9:00 am with Reverend William Keyes officiating.

Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
