SHIRLEY A. WOLFF
October 13, 1933 – December 30, 2012
Shirley A. Wolff, 79, of Lake Geneva (formerly of Two Rivers, WI) passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 30, 2012. She is now in the presence of God and her Savior Jesus in heaven. In her life Shirley was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend to all, greeting everyone with her wide smile and cheerful nature.
Shirley was born on October 13, 1933 to her parents, Herbert and Ella (nee Naser) Hermann on the family dairy farm in the Town of Carlton, Kewaunee, WI. She attended Sandy Bay Lutheran grade school. Shirley spent her early years helping on the farm along with her brother John and sister Marie.
Shirley graduated from Kewaunee High School, the valedictorian of her class. She and her future husband Arnold Wolff were high school sweethearts and prom king and queen. After high school she attended U.W. Whitewater and then married Arnold Wolff on December 8, 1955 in Kewaunee, WI. They settled in Two Rivers, WI where they raised four children. Shirley was very active at her church St. John’s Lutheran Church and School in Two Rivers, participating in the choir, served on school and church committees. Shirley was an accomplished musician on the French horn and piano and was a member of the Manitowoc Civic Orchestra and Lake Geneva Civic Orchestra. She was currently a faithful member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church and School in Lake Geneva, WI, and loved singing in the choir there.
Shirley is survived by her son Roger (wife Chace) Wolff, Lake Geneva, Russell (wife Laura) Wolff (Oshkosh) and Wendy Wolff (Lake Geneva). She had nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren: Adam, Kirk, and Cari Wolff, children of Roger and Chace Wolff, Courtney Wolff, Shawn Strathman and Bradley Langman, children and step-children of Ronald and Lori Wolff, Nicholas, Daniel, Megan, Rebecca, and Allison Wolff children of Russ and Laura Wolff, Crystal and Christopher Martin children of Wendy (David Martin) Wolff.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert, Ella, husband Arnold, brother John, sister Marie, and a son Ronald.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 26th at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva officiated by Pastor Mark Kaesmeyer. There will be a visitation at the church from 9 to 11AM with the funeral service beginning at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial to Christian Partners Foundation, 751 Geneva Parkway Blvd., Lake Geneva, WI, 53147, a local charity supported by the Wolff family that provides care for people with developmental disabilities in Kenya. Steinke Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
