Egon Zeiss, 82, of Freehold Township, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Patterson, he was a1948 graduate of Fairlawn High School. He lived in Piqua, Ohio and Greensberg, Indiana before moving to Freehold in 1977. Egon was a Marine Corps veteran serving in the Korean War. He worked in the Freehold Township school system before retiring in 1999.
He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly, in 2009, and his grandson, Dominic, in 2006. Surviving are his three sons, son-in law and daughter-in-law, Shawn Zeiss of Freehold, Steven and Debra of Cliffwood Beach, Scott Zeiss and Mike Kasternakis of East Windsor; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Thomas Romano of Matawan; grandson, Jeffery Romano; and great grandson, Nicholas Zeiss.
Family and friends may visit today from 6 to 8 PM, with a funeral service on Friday at 11 AM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. Entombment will follow the service on Friday at Maplewood Mausoleum, Freehold.
