Leila E. Sabo, 89, of Monaca, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 23, 2012.
Born July 6, 1923, in Monaca, she was a daughter the late John A. and Christel (Grimes) Himes. A lifelong resident of Center Township and Monaca, Leila was a retiree of Center Area School District. She was a faithful member of Bunker Hill Community Church, Center Twp. and enjoyed spending time with her friends at Edgecombe Apartments in Monaca.
She leaves two sons, Ken Futato and his wife, Joanne, of Aliquippa and Edward Fiejdasz and his wife, Jenette, of Marienville, PA; four grandchildren, Greg Futato in California, Edward Fiejdasz, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Tara Lawrence of Meadville and Heidi Scholar of McDonald; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Eder of Center Twp. and a brother, Robert (Charlotte) Nulf in Indiana.
In addition to her parents, Leila was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Fiejdasz, and John Sabo, and two brothers, John A. ‘Pork’ Himes, Jr. and Ernest L. ‘Skip’ Himes.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Pastor Paul Zaperach, Bunker Hill Community Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
