Mrs. Annie Virginia Ingram Cochran, age 80, of Rome, GA, died May 22, 2007, in San Jose, CA, while visiting her brother, Alex Lamar Ingram.

Virginia was born on May 7, 1927, in Cherokee County, AL to the late Solomon Little Ingram and Mozelle McKelvey Ingram. She was a member of East View Baptist Church. Mrs. Cochran retired from Champion Garments with thirty-five years of services and operated Cochran's AMOCO Service Station on Turner McCall Blvd., for thirty- years. After retiring a second time, she was employed with Riverwood Assisted Living for seven years as a night manager. Also, Virginia loved going to church, helping others, and cooking. Mrs. Cochran's special time was working with her flowers, traveling to Alabama with her niece, and traveling to California. In addition to her parents Mrs. Cochran is preceded in death by her husband, Alden H. Cochran, and two brothers, Billy L. Ingram and James Sanford Ingram.

Mrs. Cochran is survived by her brother whom she was visiting, Alex Lamar Ingram, Sr. and his wife, Anne of San Jose, CA; sister-in-law, Bobbie J. Ingram of Rome; caregiver of several years, niece, Colleen Ingram-Ellison and her husband, Stanley of Rome; niece, Sue Ingram Stapleton and her husband, Jeff of Morgan Hill, CA; niece, Kim Ingram Fried and husband, Bill of Los Angles, CA; and a nephew, Alex Lamar Ingram, Jr. and his wife, Chris of Los Altos, CA. Also, a daughter, Wendy Cantrell and her husband, Jeff of Summerville, GA; two grandsons, Robert L. Cochran of Lovejoy, GA and Joshua L. Cochran of Rome, GA; and four great-grandchildren, Madysen Fink Cochran, Alden Cochran, Hayden Cochran, and Zach Cochran all of Rome. Several great nieces and nephews survive; along with cousins, and dear close friends of many years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with a cousin, Rev. Harold Ingram,Rev. Milford Williams, and J. Parnick Jennings, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery with Rev. Rayford Davenport officiating. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at 3:00 P.M. at San Jose, CA, in the Chapel of Flowers.

Mrs. Cochran will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and at other hours will be at their respective homes. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Friday by 1:30 P.M.: Rex Moore, Rev. Rayford Davenport, Richard Phillips, Stanley Ellison, Alex Lamar Ingram, Jr., and Sam Copeland.
