Nancey Van Pelt, a longtime resident of Parkin, Arkansas, departed this life, Sunday, January 29, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Parkin, at the age of seventy-seven. She was born on, January 4, 1935, in Marked Tree, Arkansas, the daughter of Harley and Annie Marie (Bohannon) Keck.
Mrs. Van Pelt was a Christian and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, “catching up”, loved animals and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: E.W. Van Pelt, two sisters: Wilma Patterson and Mildred Brassfield.
Nancey is survived by three sons: Gary Van Pelt and wife Betty of Parkin, Arkansas, Douglas Van Pelt and wife Rita of Memphis, Tennessee, Rickey Van Pelt and wife Judy of Jacksonville, Arkansas, one daughter: Francis Sheppherd of Parkin, Arkansas, 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted, Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Parkin Cemetery, Parkin, Arkansas. Visitation will be held, Tuesday evening from 6 till 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 870-238-9400
