Paul D. Sharon, 51, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away at home surrounded by family, Saturday, Jan. 21.
He was born July 21, 1960, in Greensburg, Pa. He was the son of William J. and Hazel M. (Scherer) Sharon of Greensburg.
A 1978 graduate of Mt. Pleasant (Pa.) High School, he joined the U. S. Air Force in 1983, serving in Guam before being stationed at Charleston AFB.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Laurie Hellmann Sharon; one daughter, Chelsea, of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Nina and brother-in-law Mark Wirick of Bedford, Pa.; three nephews: Benjamin, Jacob and Cameron Wirick; brother, Todd, of Pittsburgh, and nephew Joshua Sharon; mother-in-law Margaret DelVecchio; sister-in-law Robin Hellmann and niece Alexandra Opsitnick; brothers-in-law Richard Hellmann of Benicia, Ca., and James Hellmann of Baltimore, Md.
He was co-owner with his longtime friend, John Petersen, of Palmetto Plumbing and Gas, Inc. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, classic cars and camping with friends and family.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 1 p.m. at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant.
