James H. Howell, 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Greenwood Health and Living Community in Greenwood, Indiana. He was born May 24, 1933 in Westmoreland, Tennessee to Willie Martin Howell and Thelma (Stinson) Howell. He married Emma Jean (Davenport) Howell on January 19, 1951; she preceded him in death in March of 2007. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He had been a truck driver for George F. Hilgemeier Company in Indianapolis, Indiana and retired from Shelby Engineering in Indianapolis as a mechanic after forty years of service. Survivors include daughters Teresa L. Denny (Steve) of Indianapolis and Linda J. Moody (Steve) of Englewood, Florida; grandchildren Heidi Sichting (Travis) of Greenwood, Katie Kernodle (Kevin) of Indianapolis, Kyle Denny of Indianapolis, and Jeremy Moody of Englewood, Florida; great-grandchildren Sierra Sichting, Alexis Sichting, Skyler Sichting, Ariana Moody, and Brandon Moody; and a brother, John Howell (Gail) of Scottsville, Kentucky. Private family graveside services will be conducted at Hayesville Cemetery in Tennessee.
