Elmer Grafe , 77, Lincoln , formerly of Weeping Water , died at the home on Sunday, November 6, 2005.
Mr. Grafe was born July 16, 1928, in Rural Otoe to Louis and Leana (Kohler ) Grafe .
He attend Union County School. A farmer all his life, as nature, the soil and it's cultivation
gave him much joy, almost as much as woodworking, the church, and a nurturing family. On September 28, 1950 he married Pauline Rough at the Congregational Church in Weeping Water. He served the church in many postion including two different terms as trustee. after moving to lincoln he worked as a volunteer at the Calvert Senior Center.
He is survived by his spouse, Pauline Grafe, Lincoln NE; Daughters, Linda and son-in-law Larry Gramps , Weeping Water, Elizabeth and son-in-law Jeff Robertson , Lincoln; son, Roger and daughter-in-law June Grafe , Avoca NE; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one aunt Minnie Grafe Lincoln and brother-in-law Ervan Baldwin, Seward. preceded in death by his parents and one sister Verna Baldwin
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 10, at the First Congregational Church with Rev. Renae V. Koehler officiating. Organist will be Renee' Thakur and vocal music will be provided by Annette Erhart, and Barb Smisek .
Pallbearers will be Leo Horn , Alan Horn , George Hanssen , Loren Bennett , Ron Ross , and Lynn McHugh.Honorary pallbearers will be Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren .
Visitation will be from 1-9 with family 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hammons Family Funeral Chapel.
Intrerment at Oakwood Cemetery in Weeping Water .
Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church and\or St. Elizabeth Hospice and\or Luekemia and Lymphoma Society .
