Obituary:

Services for Lois Jane Parsons, 95, of Rockwall and Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point, with Rev. Don Tisdale officiating. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point. Services are under direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Lois passed away February 5, 2008, in Rockwall. Lois Jane Curtis was born September 18, 1912, in Wills Point, to the late George and Cammie Curtis. She was raised in the Burnet Chapel Community, near Wills Point, and attended school in the Fairview Community and then graduated from high school in Myrtle Springs. At the age of sixteen, Lois married John William Bill Wilson on October 6, 1928, in Wills Point, and they were married for twenty-two years. She later married Hoyt Parsons in 1954, and he preceded her in death in 1959. Lois was a retired seamstress, working in various places, including Malouf Manufacturing in Wills Point. She loved to cook, play chicken foot and Skip Bo, and she cherished the time she spent with her family. Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wills Point, where she taught the four and five year old Sunday school class, was a group leader and an outreach leader, was in womens missions, and served as Sunday school secretary. Lois delivered tapes to the shut-ins until the age of ninety-two, and was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as, her former husband, John William Bill Wilson, her husband, Hoyt Parsons; grandson, Kyle Edward Kelley; a twin brother, who died when he was nineteen, six other brothers; and one sister. Lois is survived by her daughters, Loretta Myers of Rockwall, Charlotte Bodin and husband, Perry of Rockwall, Linda McKnight of Garland, and Alana Provence and husband, Tim of Waco; son, Freeman Hoyt Parsons of Canton; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and twin great-granddaughters, due in March, and three great great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Family visitation will be held from 6:00 -8:00 PM Friday evening.
