Failed to connect to MySQL: Too many connections
PEABODY Eugene J. Gorini, age 89 years, husband of the late Mary (McNees) Gorini, died Thursday morning July 10, 2008 at Brooksby Village in Peabody following a lengthy illness. Born in Beverly, son of the late Mario and Dorina (Guiliani) Gorini, he was raised in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School. Following high school, Eugene went to Washington, D.C. to read law. He entered the United States Army and served his country during WWII. Eugene was a resident of Hamilton for 53 years and had most recently been a resident of Brooksby Village in Peabody for the past 5 years.
Eugenes family was most important in his life. Raising his children took precedence over everything else. He taught by example. He lived his life by his actions and his accomplishments. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and was an outdoorsman. One of his passions was photography. While living at Brooksby Village, he enjoyed video taping for the in-house television station and photographed the staff and residence. He frequently edited the video tapes on his equipment and burned DVDs for the staff and residence.
Surviving him are 4 children, Helen Mary Gorini, Ph.D. of Savannah, GA; Catherine Ann Gorini, Ph.D. of Fairfield, IA; John L. Gorini and his wife Riselys of Shirley; Margaret Louise Gorini of Burlingame, CA; 3 grandchildren, Cpt. Richard E. Gorini, Esq., US Army, Cheryl R. Gorini, Derek B. Gorini, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Joseph, Robert, John and Victoria Gorini, Alma Gasperoni, Vivian Finniss and Louise Proulx.
A Graveside Service will be held at Hamilton Cemetery on Monday at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly (North Beverly Location) on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Contributions may be made in his memory to Brooksby Village, Inc., Scholarship Fund, c/o Philanthropy Department, 300 Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody, MA 01960.
