Obituary:

Bonnie Louise Logie Bieder (wife of Richard Bieder) born June 18, 1941 at Bridgeport Hospital, died January 21, 2010 at their home in Bedford, New York surrounded by her family. Bonnie is survived by her husband as well as their children, Erik Bieder and Julie Alleyne , her son-in-law William, all of Norwalk, her sister Linda McCarthy of Branford, her sister-in-law Joan Bieder of CA, her grandchildren Evan, Brendan and Tyler Bieder and Alexandra and Joshua Hamel, as well as her nieces Carey Brassell and Carol Logie, and her nephews Thomas and David Logie. She was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Lila Logie. Bonnie graduated from Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1959. She graduated from Bates College in Maine, majoring in Philosophy, in 1963. For many years Bonnie was a social worker with the Connecticut DCYS (in both its Bridgeport and Stamford offices) investigating and dealing with cases of abused children. For the past 30 years she has been the owner of an art gallery, now called The Lionheart in Pound Ridge, New York, which also provides home decorating services including murals and faux finishes. Bonnie had a soft spot in her heart for all animals (big and small). In addition she was a very spiritual person exploring and learning many religions and meditative, as well as intellectual, practices. Bonnie was a landscape painter who studied at Silvermine Guild Art Center in New Canaan. Her teacher was famed PBS landscape artist, David Dunlop. She furthered her studies with plein air painting done at sites in France made famous by such great artists as Renoir, Monet, and Joseph Turner and in Italy. Bonnie was also a member of the Board of Trustees of Silvermine Guild Art Center. Last year she was the Chair of the Centers successful and highly regarded annual benefit which raised significant funds to carry on the Centers activities . Those activities include outreach into schools from neighboring communities. She will be missed by all who experienced her grace, her humor, her honesty, and her compassion. The funeral will be private; however there will be a memorial celebration at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center " 1037 Silvermine Road, New Canaan- on January 31, 2010 beginning at 1 PM after which, those touched by Bonnies love, beauty, and presence are invited to share their experiences.
