Steven Erle Haugland, 65, of Boulder, Colorado, died at his residence on November 14, 2006.
Steve was born on November 4, 1941 in Englewood, California to Clayton and Bernadine (Banks) Haugland. He grew up in Boron, California were the attended elementary school, and then attended schools at Edwards Air Force Base and Bakersfield Junior College. He received his bachelors degree at San Jose State and his masters degree at Colorado State University.
Steve married Virginia Miller in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 14, 1961. He was an electrical engineer who worked for IBM, Storage Technologies, Data Sonics, and was one of the founders of Exabyte.
Steve was an antique collector, enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing bridge and golf.
His father preceded Steve in death. He is survived by his wife; three sons: Scott Haugland of Longmont and Kenneth and Craig Haugland of Boulder; two brothers: Del Bishop of Illinois and Tim Bishop of California; his mother, Bernadine Bishop of California; his mother-in-law, Thelma DeGraffenreid of California ; his sister-in-law, Patricia Webb and her husband Everett of California and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
No services are scheduled. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary of Longmont.
