On March 12, 1974, Cathy was united in marriage to John Poull in Columbus, Ohio. Cathys brother, Randy Deckard introduced Cathy to John while John was in the United States Army. After John was discharged from the Army in 1978, he and Cathy moved their family to Dixon, Missouri where they made their home for the next 26 years. Cathy was diagnosed with a serious illness that resulted in her hospitalization.
